Environmental Education
The Montour County Conservation District sponsors teams from the Danville Area High School and the Columbia-Montour Vo-Tech. School to participate in the Susquehanna Valley Regional Envirothon. The Susquehanna Valley Regional Envirothon consists of teams from Columbia, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder and Union Counties. The teams are presented with learning objectives in the fall, and are then tested in Aquatics, Forestry, Soils, and Wildlife. The winning team from each county then goes on to participate in the State Event.

The winning teams will then go on to compete at the University of Pittsburgh Johnstown on May 23, and May 24.
There is a Middle School Event which seventh and eighth grade students participate. This event will be held on May 9, 2017, at PPL Montour Preserve.
Watershed Protection and Education
The Conservation District supports watershed association development and projects with organizational and technical assistance provided by our Watershed Specialist. Watershed Associations invite members of the community to work together to solve or repair complex issues within their waterways and watersheds. Currently there is one active watershed in the County. It is:
Chillisquaque-Limestone Watershed Association
The Association meets the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 6:00 P.M. at the Anthony Township Building, 1295 Whitehall Road, Turbotville, PA 17772.
